About Us
Deep Blue with Purple Pearl
Vendetta Cycles was born in 2004 when Conor Buescher gave Garrett Clark a new lugged, steel road frame for his birthday. The only problem was that the frame was not assembled!
The gift consisted of lugs, steel tubing and Campagnolo dropouts—literally a raw, unassembled “kit.”
With an educational background in engineering (both mechanical and metallurgical), many years of cycling experience, and a little advice from some veteran bike builders, the first Vendetta bicycle was born.
“bilateral hip replacements kept Conor off the bike for several years”
Conor and Garrett enjoyed the build process and began building bikes for family and friends, building each bike with custom sizing and geometry to fit the rider's body and riding style.
Conor and Garrett realized that they could enjoy building a high-quality American product that combines attentive design, superior function, and artistic beauty.
Conor Buescher
Conor has been active in cycling for nearly all of his life.
I still have the suit; no it doesn't fit
An accomplished track and road racer in the mid to late 80s, Conor raced competitively in USCF events in both the NW Region and New Jersey, including Marymoor and Lehigh Valley (Trexlertown) Velodromes.
For several years hip problems prevented Conor from being as active a cyclist as he wanted. But now, two titanium hips later, Conor is back riding recreationally. He is also a regular at the Alpenrose Velodrome in Portland, Oregon, riding his beautiful new Vendetta Cycles track bike.
Conor individually specifies the size and geometry of each Vendetta cycle to its new pilot's physical and riding needs. He can provide advice based on years of experience with many styles of bicycles including road, criterium, track, commuting and general all-around riding. Conor, who has a background in metallurgy, is also able to recommend specific steel tubing for your individual application.
Conor has received Bachelors of Science degrees in Metallurgical Engineering, Applied Mathematics and Computer Science.
Garrett Clark
Garrett hand brazing a recent Vendetta
Garrett is a lifelong car nut and auto racer who came late to his appreciation of cycling.
He began using his old mountain bike for commuting to work as an environmentally (and knee) friendly alternative to driving or running. Things snowballed quickly and only a couple months after completion of his first road bike (Vendetta #1), Garrett completed his first full 100-mile Century ride and now commutes approximately 1000 miles per year on “old” #1.
Garrett personally produces the layout drawing for each Vendetta frameset and silver brazes each joint on a Vendetta by hand.
Additionally, Garrett uses his background in engineering (BS & MS in Mechanical Engineering) to provide structural design input on every Vendetta frame.
