Body Measurements
Body measurements are very important for our design. Our preferred method of taking measurements is to take them ourselves. Of course, this is not possible for a large number of our customers so in addition to necessary body measurements we will also ask for measurements of existing bicycles and pictures of you on your bicycle.
Another option is for all of us to work with a local fitter in your area. This has proven very useful and is definitely recommended for clients not in the Pacific Northwest.
Our overall goal is to gather and analyze as much data as possible as this will allow us to create the best frame design for you.

Initial Design
As we learn more about you a design starts to take shape.
The frame design is not only geometry like seat tube lengths and head tube angle, but includes choices like tubing wall thickness, alloy, diameter, and shape to tune stiffness, ride, weight and aesthetics.

Tubing Choices
We build primarily with Columbus Tubing. Their steel alloys and grain refining technologies have yielded light-weight, durable and responsive steel frames for generations of riders.
Over the years we have found Columbus to be reliable and versatile for all of our frame designs. Their level of quality and finish is unsurpassed and we can easily mix and match various tubes to tune the ride qualities of a design based on a rider's weight and intended usage.

Frame Drawing
Your frame design is drawn by hand (Garrett was a whiz at drafting before it was all done on computers) in full scale and that drawing is mounted to a granite plate for the build.
The frame drawing acts as a reference for the actual fabrication as we build the frame off of the drawing.
This provides us with a simple, yet very accurate way to create the frame that matches our design.
Once the design is complete and the frame drawing finished we move to the actual fabrication of your bicycle and its components.
