Velocipede Salon - Smoked Out
We were recently featured as part of the on-going series Smoked Out over at the Velocipede Salon forum.
The idea, concocted by Richard Sachs and Josh Simonds, is a way to allow framebuilders to have a first-person conversation with members of the forum and tell their story.
The builder starts with an brief history/personal statement and then the thread opens up the for questions or various comments. It's been quite interesting to read about the assorted builders and their individual philosophies and personal experiences.
The thread for Vendetta Cycles is located here. If you have a specific question or comment jump in and ask.
Additionally, be sure to check it out the entire Smoked Out collection here.

Garrett at the San Diego Show - April 2010
We participated again this year in the annual San Diego Custom Bicycle Show this past April.
San Diego offers a wonderful combination of sunshine, smooth roads and nice people to offer some really fantastic cycling. We hope to be back again next year! This video of Garrett at the San Diego Custom Bicycle show was done by www.roadbikereview.com
Once again Road Bike Action wrote up a nice article regarding the show; check it out Check it out.
San Diego Custom Bicycle Show
We just returned home from the second annual San Diego Custom Bicycle Show.
Garrett and I spent 3 days at the Town & Country Resort meeting and talking with cycling enthusiasts from all over the country.
It's always fun to talk bikes; a real heartfelt thanks go out to Brian, David, and Chuck for organizing a great show.
I had more photos but low lighting conditions and a poor photographer (me) produced some sub-optimal photos.
You'll have to make do with the 80.
I'm sure you understand.

Biketoberfest 2009
We recently attended the first ever Hopworks Urban Brewery BIKETOBERFEST, a bike-in Oktoberfest celebrating Portland’s bike culture and benefiting the Sunday Parkways program.
I was a little concerned about the weather as it was raining when I left in the morning but just before noon the rain stopped and we had a great day.
I had a wonderful time talking to cycling folks from as far away as Germany as well as the Portland faithful and drinking a couple of great beers.
I'm sure we'll participate next year as well.

PDX Airport Display
Part of the PDC PDX Airport Display
During most of 2008 we participated in the Portland Development Commission's project featuring Handmade Bicycles on display at the Portland International Airport.
The display started April 3 and continued into November giving nearly 4 million people access to see Oregon bikes in a wonderful setting.
Organized by the Port of Portland, Sweetpea Bicycles, Regional Arts & Culture Council (RACC) and the Portland Development Commission (PDC), the exhibit features frames selected by a committee of RACC representatives and Oregon framebuilders. Included in the display are Stites Design (Portland); Bike Friday (Eugene); Jeff Jones Custom Bicycles (Medford); Renovo Cycles (Portland); Keith Anderson (Ashland); Ahearne (Portland); Drop-out Bicycle Club (Portland); Vanilla (Portland); Chris King (Portland); and Vendetta (Corvallis).
Our black track bike was on display.

Special and not purple
Roadbike Review conducted a video interview with Garrett during the 2008 NAHBS show in Portland.
NAHBS 2008 Gallery
The North American Handmade Bicycle show rolled into Portland Oregon and the town lit up with coffee, hipster bike culture, tight, skinny jeans and black horn-rimmed glasses.
Highlights for me were meeting Dazza from DU and actually getting a chance to talk with Mr. Brian Baylis for about 10 minutes. It's the little things that make a great weekend.
This gallery of NAHBS 4.0 photos was assembled by my photographically inclined better-half and since her camera is a lot better than mine in low-light conditions there are actually some nice photos from this year.
NAHBS 2007 Gallery
I've set up a gallery of photos from our recent trip to the NAHBS in San Jose. The lighting was difficult to say the least but the pictures have great content. :)
My pictures lean towards the steel, lugged bike variety but there was so much amazing craft there that it didn't matter if you were interested in steel, titanium, carbon fiber, or bamboo - there was something exciting to see.
Enjoy!

While rummaging around the computer I also found my shots from last year's show in San Jose.
We attended the show, but didn't exhibit.
Check it out.
