Vendetta Cycles Process Methodology
Our main tools
Everything begins with you: your riding style, your physical measurements, your intended usage.
Are you looking for a quick handling track frame for racing at Alpenrose Velodrome?
Are you interested in a fast and comfortable frameset featuring a more traditional stage-racing layout?
Your age, your gender, your strength, your flexibility, your goals...these all matter, and we take them all into account.
Customer Engagement and Design
Custom Design Calculations
After answering questions, taking body measurements and having a discussion, we'll create your unique frame design.
Following the initial design, individual frame components (lugs, tubing, dropouts, and braze-ons) are selected with your needs in mind.

Each joint is individually filed by hand to fit exactly and then it's pinned in place before silver brazing; this creates the straightest and strongest frame possible.
Our frames are not brazed in a massive jig. As the frame heats up during brazing, it expands. If the frame is constrained by a jig, the joints can distort.

Instead, we rely on the joints that were pinned with the frame fixtured on a perfectly flat granite table at room temperature to provide the structural support for the frame.
The pinning process takes more time but we believe the resulting quality is worth the additional effort.
Although the silver brazing process is more expensive than other joining techniques (like TIG-welding or brass brazing), the results are worth it.
Silver brazing produces an incredibly strong joint without exposing the steel to high temperatures that could affect the grain structure of the tubes.
Vendetta Frame Alignment
Conor performing final alignment
After brazing at over 1000°F, there are very slight deviations in the frame, so each frame is checked for deflections and aligned before painting.
The resulting structure is an extremely strong, fundamentally straight frame with a minimum of internal stress.
You can have any color you want; even black
No discussion of frames and bicycles would be complete without talking about paint.
Nice looking paint!
The use of separate color and clear-coat process provides the deepest colors and smoothest finish possible.
You can either specify the exact color, like 1998 Ferrari Rosso Barchetta (dark red), or a classic cycling color like Gios Blue or Molteni Orange, or general colors like Candy Apple Red or Ivory Pearl.
Choosing a paint scheme is a lot of fun. We can work together to create a personal look for your new Vendetta frame.
If you would like to explore possibilities, a great classic paint color resource is the Auto Color Library. Make sure you check out the names of the 1969 and 1970 Ford colors!
